Yesterday I had another great float with Ken from the Baxter House. The weather was great and the fall foliage was spectacular. Unfortunately, the wind picked up here and there, but, overall, it didn’t really impact us. I had some success on nymphs and a caught the fish below on a dry (small BWO) later in the day. There were a lot of bugs, but not that much coming off the water. We saw caddis, light cahills, sulphers, BWOs and a ton of midges later in the day. Ken really got me working on my casting skills, too, as I seem to have gotten a little lax this past year and developed some bad habits. This was my first time floating the Delaware during this time of year and will definitely do it again.
On Sunday I joined about 170 other volunteers for NYC DEP’s Reservoir Cleanup Day. I, along with several members of the Croton Watershed and NYC TU chapters, volunteered to assist with the cleanup of the Kensico Reservoir. For additional information, you can read the press release.
